Surah Luqman is the thirty-first surah and one of the Meccan surahs of the Qur'an, which is located in the 21st chapter. This surah has been chosen with this name on the occasion of mentioning Luqman's name and his advice to his son. While clarifying that Luqman benefited from the divine gift of wisdom, Surah Luqman quotes his wise and moral words and topics such as monotheism, describing the state of the righteous, the characteristics of the disbelievers and the arrogant, the call to piety, and the description of the situation of the Day of Resurrection. Verse 19 is one of Luqman's advices to his son, and verse 22, known as the verse of Arwa al-Waghhi, is one of the famous verses of this surah. Under the sixth verse of this sura, the jurists have discussed the validity of hadith and wealth. In virtue of reciting this surah, it is stated that every person should read Surah Luqman; In the Day of Resurrection, Luqman was his friend and he will be rewarded ten times the reward of a person who does good deeds and avoids bad deeds.
