Surah Tariq is the eighty-sixth surah and one of the Meccan surahs of the Qur'an, which is included in the 30th part of the Qur'an. Tariq means star, and this surah is called Tariq because of that, at the beginning of which, an oath was taken to Tariq. Surah Tariq deals with resurrection and states that God is able to resurrect a person after death. This surah then talks about the importance of the Qur'an and introduces it as a decisive and enlightening statement. The 9th verse of this sura is one of the famous verses that calls the Day of Judgment "the Day of Tabli al-Raar: the day when secrets are revealed". It was narrated from the Prophet (PBUH) that whoever recites Surah Tariq, God will give him ten good deeds equal to the number of stars in the sky.
