Surah Falaq is the 113th surah and one of the Meccan surahs of the Quran, which is located in the 30th chapter. The naming of this surah as Falaq, which means morning and dawn, is taken from its first verse. Surah Falaq is one of four surahs. In this Surah, God orders the Prophet (PBUH) to seek refuge in God from all evil, especially from the evil of the darkness of the night, enchanting women and the evil of the envious. Some Sunni commentators say that this surah was revealed when a Jewish man bewitched the Prophet (PBUH) and the Prophet fell ill because of it. After the arrival of Gabriel and the revelation of Surah Falaq and Nas, verses from it were recited to the Prophet (PBUH) and he got up from his sick bed. Some Shia scholars have objected to this statement and said that magic does not affect the Prophet (PBUH). Surah Falaq and Nas are called Mu'awi'dtin; Because they are read for amulets. In the virtue of reciting Surah Falaq, whoever recites the two Surahs Nas and Falaq, it is as if he has read all the books of the divine prophets. It is also reported that the Prophet (PBUH) considered the two Surahs Falaq and Nas as the most beloved surahs to God.
