Surah Tahirim is the sixty-sixth surah and one of the civil surahs of the Qur'an, which is located in the 28th chapter. The name of the surah is taken from its first verse, which refers to the oath of the Prophet (PBUH) to sanction a halal for himself for the satisfaction of his wives. Surah Tahirim encourages sinners to repent and talks about the effects of faith in the Day of Judgment and calls Muslims to Jihad against infidels and hypocrites and to be strict with them. In this surah, Noah's wife and Lot's wife are mentioned as unrighteous women, and Pharaoh's wife Asia and Maryam are mentioned as righteous women. The sixth verse of Surah Tahirim, calling believers to protect themselves and their families from the fire of hell, is one of the famous verses of this surah. It is narrated that anyone who recites Surah Tahrim will succeed in repenting and not returning to sin. Also, among the properties of this surah, the reduction of the torment of the dead and the easy death of the bereaved person have been mentioned.
