Surah Al-Adiyat or Wal-Adiyat is the 100th surah and one of the small surahs of the Qur'an, which has eleven verses and begins with an oath. The name of the surah is taken from its first verse and it means runners and swifts. There is a difference of opinion about Makki or Madani. This surah is located in the 30th chapter of the Qur'an. Surah Adiyat deals with Jihadists and the resurrection of the dead on the Day of Judgment and talks about the ingratitude of man. In virtue of its recitation, it is stated that whoever recites Surah Al-Adiyat and continues on it, God will send him on the Day of Judgment with the Commander of the Faithful (AS) and he will be in his company and among his friends. Surah Adiyat is recited in the second rakat of Jafar Tayyar prayer.
