Muharram mourning 🌙 is a series of commemorations and rituals held for the martyrdom of Imam Hussain ibn Ali (AS), the Master of Martyrs 🥀, and his companions, who fell in the Battle of Karbala. This battle took place in 61 AH in the desert of Karbala, in present-day Iraq 🇮🇶. Mourning for Imam Hussain (AS) is not limited to the month of Muharram; it is also observed throughout the year according to the culture and customs of each region. The mourning for Imam Hussain (AS) and his companions begins on the first day of Muharram and reaches its peak at noon on Ashura 📅💔.
