Four opponents, set apart by what they see:
• Beginner takes any box you offer and draws wherever there is room.
• Casual knows never to draw a box's third side.
• Skilled looks ahead and hands over the shortest chain it can find.
• Master counts every chain, reads the endgame to the last line, and gives away two boxes to keep the rest.
