Robert Lewandowski ( born in Warsaw, Poland, August 21, 1988) is a Polish soccer player who plays as an attacker at the German Bundesliga club, Bayern Munich and is a captain of the Polish national team.

International career

Lewandowski made three appearances for Poland's Under-21 team, in friendly matches against England, Belarus and Finland.

His debut for the senior national team came on September 10, 2008, three weeks after his 20th birthday, against San Marino where he came on as a substitute and scored one goal. Only Włodzimierz Lubański scored on his debut for the national team at a younger age than Lewandowski, namely at the age of 16 at the time.

Playing in the city of Warsaw in the opening match of UEFA Euro 2012 in the Group A preliminaries against Greece, Lewandowski scored the first goal of the tournament after getting an assist from Jakub Błaszczykowski and making him Man of the Match in that match . He played in all three Polish matches in the tournament, Poland as the host was eliminated in the group stage by only packing two points.

Since his goal at Euro 2012, Lewandowski then only scored 3 goals, two goals each from the penalty spot in a 5-0 win against San Marino during the 2014 World Cup qualifiers. And an equalizing goal against Montenegro on September 6, 2013 was also on the same display.
