29 is the four-player team card game loved across India, Bangladesh and Nepal: you and your
partner across the table against two rivals. It uses 32 cards, and what counts is not how
many tricks you take but which cards you take.
♠ HOW IT PLAYS
• A special order: the jack is highest, then the nine, then the ace and the ten.
• Points: each jack 3, each nine 2, each ace and ten 1, and 1 for the last trick. 29 in all.
• Bid on just four cards, from 16 to 28. The highest bidder chooses the trump.
• The hidden trump: the bidder lays one card face down. Its suit is trump and nobody else
knows it until a player who can't follow suit asks to see it.
• The pair: the king and queen of trump in one hand move the target by 4.
• The first team to +6 wins.
♠ HOUSE RULES
• Seventh-card trump: the bidder's seventh card decides the trump.
• Single hand: play alone with no trump and win all 8 tricks.
• Double and redouble: the round is worth 2 or 4.
Switch any of them off before the game.
♠ FAIR, SMART BOTS
No bot but the bidder ever sees the hidden trump. They bid on what four cards are worth,
feed points to a winning partner, and ask for the trump when a trick is worth it.
♠ PICK YOUR PARTNER AND RIVALS
Sit down with a cast of characters, each with their own skill and temper.
♠ AND MORE
• Cards the rules don't allow stay dimmed, even "you must trump", and the game tells you why.
• Resume any game exactly where you left it.
• Stats, a daily challenge and streak, and badges.
• In 18 languages, including Hindi, Nepali and Bengali.
• Several card decks and backs, and sound.
