Apply Abroad Lab — PhD and postdoc positions, screened for Iranian applicants
This is not a general listing of academic vacancies. The difference is in the work done before a posting reaches you.
Every position entering this database has its source page read in full, and what it says about eligibility, applicant nationality, funding, language requirements and security screening clauses is recorded separately. Positions explicitly closed to foreign nationals are removed before they ever reach the app.
Why this matters
A real example from the database: a UK doctoral studentship headed "Fully-Funded Studentship" in large type, with a genuine figure attached — £22,805 a year for four years. Further down the same page, repeated three times: UK Nationals ONLY.
Anyone trusting the headline alone might spend weeks on an application that was closed to them from the start. That row never enters this app.
And where we do not know, we say so
If the university page was silent about nationality, the app says the page was silent — not that the door is open. A wrong fact costs weeks; an empty cell costs nothing.
What the app contains
Open PhD and postdoc positions from universities and research institutes across Europe, the UK and Canada. The list is updated daily and changes appear in the app immediately. Positions past their deadline are not shown at all.
Filter by field, country, degree level and funding status. Search across the title, the institution and the research area.
Record your field and target degree in your profile, and positions close to them are surfaced on the home screen.
On each position's detail page: funding status, the supervisor's name and email, and the software commonly used in that field. The eligibility text and any security clause are shown verbatim in the institution's own words — untranslated, because that is the sentence you may need to show a supervisor or a consulate.
Other sections
A world university database organized by country, with the basics for each institution. This section works without an internet connection.
An academic CV assessment that weighs your research and academic record.
Technical notes
An account is required to view positions. Account data is held on the server rather than on the device, so installing a later version means signing in again with your profile intact.
The app carries no advertising and no analytics or behavioral tracking of any kind.
Feedback
The most useful report we can receive is a discrepancy. If you find a row that does not match the university's own page — in the title, the deadline, or the funding status — tell us through the contact form inside the app.
This database exists precisely to prevent the one wrong fact that can cost an applicant weeks.
