Smart Consumer mobile app, lets you scan and validate product information on labels of consumer products sold in India. The information on attributes of consumer products provided in the Smart Consumer mobile app is directly sourced from brand owners/ manufacturers and is thus can be relied on for authenticity.



Smart Consumer app also enable consumers instantly share their feedback on products or register complaints, directly with the manufacturer / brand owner.



Besides the above, consumers get information on licenses/certifications provided to food manufacturing units by Food Safety & Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) and on AGMARK.



To use this app, simply scan the product barcode, starting with 890 and get access to:



• Product Name

• Name & Address of Manufacturer

• Month & Year of Manufacture

• MRP

• Net Content

· Shelf life



• Consumer care details (phone & email) for providing feedback and requesting for additional product information, and much more



The app is developed by GS1 India, a Standard body set up by Ministry of Commerce & Industry, along with and apex trade and industry bodies, including BIS.
