Please do not leave us without your good prayers. Surah Esra or Subhan or Bani Israel is the 17th surah and one of the Meccan surahs of the Qur'an, which is in the 15th part of the Qur'an. The name of this surah is Isra' (night journey), on the occasion of talking about the night journey of the Prophet of Islam (pbuh), from Masjid al-Haram to Bait al-Maqdis. Also, Bani Isra'il is another name of the surah because it deals with the stories of the people of Bani Isra'il. In this surah, topics such as monotheism, resurrection, negation of polytheism, ascension of the Prophet, signs of prophecy, miracles of the Qur'an, kindness to parents, the effect of sin on human beliefs, prohibition of certain sins and the superiority of humans over other creatures are discussed. The first verse about the journey of the Prophet of Islam to Ascension, verse 70 about the dignity of human beings and verse 82 about the healing of the Qur'an are some of the famous verses of Surah Isra. Also, verse 33 about the sanctity of suicide and verse 78 about prayer times are considered among the verses of Al-Ahkam. It was narrated from Imam Ali (a.s.) that anyone who reads Surah Isra and when he comes to God's advice regarding parents in this Surah, his emotions will be stimulated and he will feel more love towards his parents, he will be rewarded.
